Master’s Degree in Public Health at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, Portugal, completed in 2003 iwith the presentation of a research work entitled: “Evolution of Perinatal Health Indicators in Portugal”.
PhD in Public Health by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, Portugal, with presentation of the research work “Caesarean – a role for culture, society and health care”.
PhD Researcher at the Laboratory for Integrative and Translational Research in Population Health (ITR) of the Public Health Institute of the University of Porto.

Member of the research team of the FCT-funded project: Perinatal Health in Migrants: barriers, incentives and outcomes (PTDC/DTP-SAP/6384/2014).
Professor at the Instituto Politécnico de Bragança, Portugal, teaching subjects of Anatomy, Physiology, Epidemiology and Public Health.
