Medical Specialist of Endocrinology-Nutrition, graduated in Medicine by the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Faculty of Medical Sciences of the New University of Lisbon) in 1994.

Graduate Assistant of Endocrinology-Nutrition of the Centro Hospitalar de Lisboa Ocidental (West Lisbon Hospital Center), since 2000.Post-graduation in Health Services Management, by the Institute of Medical Education of the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Faculty of Medical Sciences of the New University of Lisbon) in 2000.PhD in Public Health by the Faculdade de Medicina of the Universidade do Porto (Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto)  in 2018 with the thesis: “Metabolic Syndrome: Definition and prevalence in Portugal and associations with Hypovitaminosis D, Thyroid Dysfunction and Autoimmunity” oriented by the PhD Teacher Ana Cristina Santos and by the PhD Teacher João Tiago Guimarães.

Guest Teacher of the graduation in Biomedical Sciences of the University of Algarve since 2010.

Integrated PhD Researcher of the Epidemiology Research Unit of the Public Health Institute of the University of Porto (EPIUnit), Research Group on Epidemiology of Noncommunicable Diseases.

Publication of 7 articles in international journals with peer review.

Main areas of interest: Epidemiology of Diseases of Bone Metabolism, Hypovitaminosis D, Autoimmune Thyroid Diseases and Thyroid Cancer.
